Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) recently has partnered with Avantis Education to bring educational virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) solution ClassVR to its students. The partnership is bringing upwards of 16 thousand ClassVR headsets to students for advanced virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) learning. This collaboration supports LAUSD’s Instructional Technology Initiative, which aims to provide students with engaging, immersive learning experiences that enhance both academic instruction and student engagement.

ClassVR is an immersive learning solution created specifically for K-12 classrooms. It offers a comprehensive package that includes all necessary hardware, software, training, and support for seamless VR/AR deployment. This service will allow the Los Angeles Unified education group to access a broad library of immersive learning tools and resources, enabling students to interact with XR lessons.

Related A New Level of Immersion in Virtual Training

“Los Angeles Unified has demonstrated its commitment to being a pioneer in educational technology by placing students at the forefront of innovative learning tools. Through our collaboration, we’re proud to help the district expand its use of VR technology in a thoughtful, strategic way, supporting the district’s vision of making learning more engaging and future-focused,” says Huw Williams, CEO of Avantis Education.

With VR experiences that pique curiosity and encourage dynamic learning throughout the district, Avantis Education has been a valued partner of LAUSD for the past two years. ClassVR was first implemented in a small number of schools, but because to its popularity, it has quickly expanded. In order to create an engaging learning environment, many LAUSD schools now deploy ClassVR headsets in both classroom settings and extracurricular programs. Students can investigate a variety of topics, such as physics, history, and professional and technical education, using virtual reality, reports ImmersiveTechnology.

This partnership's most recent extension focuses on enrichment programs that take place before and after school and offer good chances for integration into a variety of academic subjects. This partnership demonstrates LAUSD's dedication to using immersive technology to improve student learning results and position the district as a pioneer in educational innovation.
