Dr. Xiaoying Rong is Professor and Department Chair of Graphic Communication at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. Her work spans printing, materials, electronics, product development, and production technologies, with a particular focus on low-cost printed and hybrid electronics. She collaborates with interdisciplinary teams within and beyond Cal Poly on materials characterization, product development, and the development and testing of scalable production technologies for hybrid electronic products. Through teaching, research, and industry collaboration, she is particularly interested in preparing students to work across engineering, design, production, business, and user experience as emerging technologies move from research into real-world applications.
