Richard is the founder and Managing Director of BM innovations GmbH, one of the first companies having developed a digital transmission technology for battery-driven commercial sensor products demanding a long battery lifetime in combination with superior transmission distance. In his first job, Richard worked on the high-level language optimization of the MSP430 architecture and further developed the first development environment for this microcontroller family at Texas Instruments. He then joined IAR Systems’ board of management, building up a Consulting & Development department with a heavy focus on ultra-low-power wireless sensor applications. In 2004, Richard decided to buy out the department and start his own business, developing the first coaching system for a mobile phone (adidas/Samsung MiCoach) and the first fully embedded wearable technology for a consumer product in high-volume production (Under Armour Smart Shoes). His close collaboration with semiconductor manufacturers, in combination with a highly innovative team, is the perfect groundwork for cutting-edge designs.
