Michael Aratow, MD, is Co-Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Ellipsis Health. Previously, he was the Chief Medical Information Officer at San Mateo Medical Center where he implemented three different electronic medical record (EMR) systems and led innovation in new technologies, including helping to bring virtual reality to the Emergency Department, the Pain Management Clinic and the Integrated Behavioral Health Clinic. Dr. Aratow has served as an angel investor and advised early-stage digital health companies, worked on standards for 3D on the web and still practices as an Emergency Physician.
He performed a research fellowship at the University of California San Diego (UCSD) School of Medicine in Orthopedics and was a research consultant at NASA/Ames Research Center in basic physiology and virtual environment projects. He has authored or co-authored several papers in physiology, the 3D web and healthcare and has spoken on healthcare innovation.
Dr. Aratow received his MD degree from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) David Geffen School of Medicine, a surgical internship at the University of California, San Francisco and his Emergency Medicine training at John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County.
