After leaving school, he did his business administration studies. At University he focused on topics in management and automation of high- and mid-voltage grids. During his studies and after graduating in 1996 he worked in a utility company based in southwest Germany.

After graduating Frank entered a national engineering company (a subsidiary of E.ON) as a project manager for public lightning and renewing/rebuilding substations. This and other activities in mid-and low-voltage grids finally led him to SerCon an IBM consulting subsidiary in Germany to set up the newly founded energy and utility industry sales team. Since 2003 Frank is with IBM energy&utilities. He started as a Key Account Manager for a Utility Company and moved with all his experiences around key topics and challenges of the Utility industry to the business development for E&U in EMEA. As Business Development Manager for ISVs in E&U he acted in a global team developing ideas around the company’s solution approach in conjunction with industry-specific software vendors. As of his business development activities he took responsibility for a new solution/services platform, developed in the Smart Metering Business for Utility Companies as a Project Manager. Building a Smart Metering Platform for new Energy Services and deploying it for the new energy market requirements. Focusing on the value adds out of Smart Metering&Beyond Frank was assigned to act as the new industry solution leader in SWG in DACH to develop further solutions to maintain and expand IBM’s industry footprint in Europe. As Smart Metering belongs to any markets around the globe Frank was responsible for Smart Meter Solutioning with IBM globally and led the first projects in Asia and Africa to a successful start. After 4 years of global engagements, Frank returned to the DACH region to be the Industry Solution Executive for Energy and Utilities. 2018 - 2021 he was delivering new ideas with new technologies such as AI, cognitive, and cloud to mainly German Utilities. With his experiences, Frank established a European-wide Network of Energy Experts in IBM, with regular meetings to share knowledge and information and as a platform for discussion of new projects, solutions, and ideas. Starting in 2022 Frank moved on to set up his own business in the energy sector and joined PEEK as a Global Sales Advisor.
