Arthur Lai brings a wealth of expertise to his role at Macquarie, having joined the firm in April 2024. Prior to this, he served as the co-founder and research director of a global tech long-only fund based in Hong Kong. He was head of Greater China technology research at Citi, and specialized in the Asia tech sector from December 2010 to March 2022. Arthur transitioned to Hong Kong to expand his coverage in Greater China Tech. Between 2019 and 2022, the Institutional Investor survey ranked Arthur No. 1 team/individual in the hardware technology sector three times. Arthur has experience in diverse roles in tech companies, including market intelligence for TSMC and long-term strategic planning for Corning Inc. His professional journey commenced in 2001 at Taiwanese think-tank MIC. Arthur holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Resource Economics with a major in NCHU, and an MBA from Ciao Tung University in Hsingchu, Taiwan.
