Anderson Shum, Prof

Professor Anderson H.C. Shum, MH, is the Vice-President (Research) and a Chair Professor of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at City University of Hong Kong. He is also the Founding Director and Co-Director of the Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre. He has received numerous awards, including the Lab on a Chip & Aline Pioneers of Miniaturisation Lectureship, the Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award, and is a Research Grants Council Senior Research Fellow. He holds a PhD and a master's in applied physics from Harvard University and a bachelor's in chemical engineering from Princeton University. Professor Shum is renowned for pioneering development of aqueous two-phase systems and advances in droplet-based platforms for biomedical applications such as high-throughput analyses.
