Professor Yu is a world-renowned bio-entrepreneur and scientist with over 30 years of experience in the field of neuroscience and molecular diagnostics. He received his PhD from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada and spent subsequent years in UCSF, Stanford, HKUST and Peking University. He has published 176 peer review scientific papers, several commentaries in NEJM, Science and Nature Biotechnology, and 15 books. He has invented numerous technologies including 80 global patents. Professor Yu has many awards such as “National Science and Technology Progress Award”, “China Cooperative Innovation Award”, “Asia Pacific Frost & Sullivan Product Differentiation Excellence Award for In-Vitro Diagnostics”, “Hong Kong Industry Award”. He currently holds multiple positions, including Chairman of Hong Kong Biotechnology Organization, Chairman of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Biotechnology Alliance, Chairman of BIOHK2026, and Biotech Advisory Panelist of Hong Kong Stock Exchange etc. Professor Yu founded HKLife and pioneered the development of the BioRadar® System, an innovative AI-powered diagnostic and therapeutic platform.
