



Mr Benedict Tan is the Group Chief Digital Strategy Officer (GCDSO) and Chief Data Officer (CDO) of Singapore Health Services (SingHealth), Singapore's largest healthcare cluster. SingHealth delivers comprehensive, multi-disciplinary and integrated care through a network of four hospitals, five National Specialty Centres and ten polyclinics. As an Academic Medical Centre, SingHealth advances innovations in patient care and leverages strong clinical and research capabilities to improve health outcomes.
As GCDSO, Benedict leads SingHealth's digital strategy and transformation roadmap, driving initiatives that enhance the digital experience of both patients and healthcare professionals. He oversees key functions including IT delivery and support, cybersecurity, analytics, data management and data governance. In his role as CDO, he champions the secure and effective use of data to enable digitalisation, innovation and data-driven decision-making across the healthcare cluster.
With over 30 years of experience in healthcare technology, Benedict has held leadership roles across both the public and private sectors, including the Ministry of Health, National Computer Board, SAP and SingHealth. Throughout his career, he has served in diverse capacities such as project manager, business development leader, product manager and implementation consultant. He has played pivotal leadership roles in numerous large-scale IT and business transformation initiatives, including the Civil Service Medical Claims Reengineering Programme, Singapore General Hospital's Bed Management System, and the implementation of SingHealth's Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system. He has also spearheaded IT enablement projects for major SingHealth facilities, including Academia, National Heart Centre Singapore and SingHealth Polyclinics.
Beyond his responsibilities at SingHealth, Benedict actively contributes to the broader health technology ecosystem. He serves on the board of HIMSS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society) and is an industry advisor to SG Growth Capital, which supports the growth of innovative enterprises, as well as NTT APAC.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions to healthcare digitalisation and public service, Benedict was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) at the National Day Awards 2025.
