Taiwanese healthtech startup, iWEECARE, bagged US$1 million in a pre-series A round led by Singapore’s Verge HealthTech Fund. Local venture capital firm Darwin Venture and US-based Translink Capital also participated in the round.
The company said it plans to use the fresh funds to help is global expansion efforts.

In addition to the funding, iWEECARE also just received regulatory approval to market its flagship product, Temp Pal, which it claims to be the world’s smallest smart thermometer, in both the EU and Taiwan.
Temp Pal is a comprehensive and convenient wireless body temperature tracking device that provides real-time monitoring combined with smart alerts, reports MobiHealthNews.
The patented stamp-sized soft, flexible patch has a high-performance temperature sensor with a battery life of 2-3 days. It can also be connected via Bluetooth to transmit body data to a secure cloud through its mobile app, delivering real-time charts and smart alerts. The wearable device can also be applied in hospitals and clinics as it offers centralized tracking and analytics from multiple devices.

“It is also crucial to real-time continuous monitor body temperature for infants, patients and couples who plan to be pregnant. Traditional thermometers rely on human behavior and efforts to test periodically, resulting in interruptions of quality of life and ambiguous health care decisions,” said the company’s CEO Glen Tseng. “Our company hope to address the issues with a friendly and comfortable solution.”
