The Civil-Military Centre of Expertise for Trauma Care (CETC) is a civil–military research, education, and innovation centre established through a partnership between the Dutch Ministry of Defence and UMC Utrecht. CETC focuses on advancing trauma care across the entire continuum of care, from point of injury to recovery and return to function. Working closely with healthcare providers, academic institutions, industry partners, governmental organizations, and international networks, CETC accelerates the translation of scientific knowledge and technological innovation into clinical and operational practice. Key areas of expertise include military and civilian trauma care, (burn) wound care, simulation-based training, data-driven healthcare improvement, and value-based healthcare. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, CETC develops and evaluates innovative solutions that enhance patient outcomes, healthcare quality, operational readiness, and resilience in both civilian and military healthcare systems.
